Hello, I'm Lana.
I'm a ceramic and batik artist based in Mobile, Alabama.
I've always been drawn to the natural world — its colors, textures, patterns, and endless variety of forms. These elements find their way into my work, whether I'm sculpting a flower in clay, carving an intricate design, or painting on silk.
I enjoy working across different mediums, and I find that one often inspires the other. Ceramics allows me to explore form, texture, and dimension, while batik gives me the freedom to play with color, layers, and movement.
For me, creating is as much about the process as it is about the finished piece. I love experimenting, discovering new techniques, and occasionally letting the materials lead the way.
Teaching has also become an important part of my artistic practice. I love sharing what I've learned and encouraging others to explore their own creativity. I've had the pleasure of teaching at the Mobile Museum of Art, Eastern Shore Art Center, Lucy Clark Gallery & Studio, and other creative spaces.
I believe art should bring joy — both to the person creating it and to those who experience it.
Thank you for visiting my little corner of the creative world.
Love and light,
Lana
