Batik Studio
Batik is a beautiful combination of drawing, painting, and textile art.
Using wax or other resist techniques, I create designs on fabric, building color in layers and preserving selected areas as I work. It's a process that requires both patience and a willingness to experiment.
I work primarily on silk, exploring everything from detailed botanical compositions to more abstract patterns and expressive color combinations.
What I love about batik is the balance between intention and spontaneity. Even after years of working with the technique, there's still something exciting about seeing the finished piece revealed.
